INTERNSHIP AT THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH AND NEUROSCIENCES

I worked under Dr Naren Rao and a panel of psychiatrists, psychologists and neuroscientists at IISc and NIMHANS.
The project I interned in was a public health study on Alzheimer's. As a part of the study, I conducted psychological & cognitive evaluations, wrote and designed the outreach brochure, and conducted an awareness program.
PROJECT AT SPASTICS SOCIETY OF KARNATAKA

I volunteered at the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and CRD (Clinical Research and Development) department at Spastics Society of Karnataka where I co-conducted the Parent Training Program. I wrote an article about my experience there, which was published in the Hindu: The child’s special world
INTERNSHIP ATÂ IISER PUNE
May 15 2019 — July 15 2019
I was a summer intern at Dr Aurnab Ghose’s lab, IISER Pune. I worked with zebrafish larvae (Brn3C mutants).
Through this project, I learnt basic Biology lab techniques, confocal microscopy and how to analyse research papers and write literature reviews.
MASTERS THESIS AT IISER MOHALI
June 2021 - Present
My Masters' thesis is being conducted under the guidance of Prof Anu Sabhlok, a social science professor at IISER Mohali. My Master’s thesis is in the field of Medical Anthropology and is an ethnographic study on Menopause. I conducted qualitative interviews with women who have gone or are going through menopause, their family members, medical practitioners and school students. The aim is to find the gaps in awareness about menopause, the different perceptions of menopause and the social structures which play roles in the Indian menopause experience.
